Il letto / The bed

Miei cari e dolci amici, innanzitutto ben ritrovati, e grazie per i vostri utili commenti al precedente post: mi avete ispirato molte idee e riflessioni.

Sono riuscita a focalizzare meglio la storia che riguarda questa casa delle bambole...
Mi è piaciuto molto il fatto che abbiate colto in pieno lo spirito della casa: uno spazio libero per sognare e riposare il corpo e la mente, una casa per le vacanze da noi stessi e dalla realtà. Una di quei rifugi lontani dalla città, in cui si scappa appena possibile: vacanze di Natale o vacanze estive, ma anche la fine settimana :-)

Ho ricevuto in eredità questa casa da una vecchia zia, presso la quale trascorrevo le mie vacanze da bambina. Ricordo ancora l'emozione di varcare la soglia di casa ed essere accolta dal profumo di cose buone, un misto di torta di mele, crostata di mirtilli, lavanda e sapone di marsiglia...
Ora che lei non c'è più, è molto bello avere questo posto per continuare a sognare e pensare alle cose belle della vita, alle piccole cose che danno un senso alla vita.

Mi piace pensare che riuscirò a trasferire le mie passioni alla mia bambina Elisa, attraverso le storie legate a questa casa.
Certo, il cottage, dopo tutti questi anni, era molto malandato, ma con pazienza e impegno, sono riuscita a riportarlo al suo antico splendore, aggiungendo qualcosa di nuovo ma soprattutto recuperando le care vecchie cose, come è di moda adesso.

I am able to better focus the story about this dollhouse ...
I really liked the fact that you fully captured the spirit of the house: a free space to dream and relax your body and mind, a home for the holidays by ourselves and reality. One of those shelters away from the city, which runs as soon as possible: Christmas holidays or summer holidays, but also the weekend :-)
 

I inherited this house from an old aunt, with whom I spent my holidays as a child. I still remember the thrill of crossing the threshold of the house and be greeted by the smell of good things, a mixture of apple pie, blueberry pie, lavender and Marseille soap ...
Now that she is gone, it is very nice to have this place to continue to dream and think about the good things in life, the little things that GIVE MEANING to life.

I like to think that I can transfer my passions to my little girl Elisa, through the stories about this house.
Of course, the cottage, after all these years, it was very run down, but with patience and effort, I managed to bring it back to its former glory, adding something new but mostly recovering the dear old things, as it is fashionable today.

Quando ho girato la chiave nella toppa della serratura, e la porta ha cigolato sui gangheri, ho deciso che avrei tenuto tutti i vecchi mobili della zia perchè grazie alla chalk paint, oggi è possibile ridare nuova vita alle cose vecchie :-)
Sono salita a perlustrare la stanza da letto e il ricordo dell'odore di lavanda si è fatto più intenso...
Ricordavo benissimo il vecchio, imponente letto di ferro battuto, con le fresche lenzuola di lino e il bellissimo copriletto di pizzo che la zia aveva ereditato a sua volta. 

Ricordavo benissimo le tante volte che mi aveva letto una favola prima di dormire, mentre io mi abbandonavo ai miei sogni di principesse e folletti, accoccolata tra le romantiche coltri...
Ho voluto tenere tutto!
Ora che la ristrutturazione degli interni è finita, ho potuto cominciare a pensare all'allestimento, perchè l'estate si avvicina e la casa deve essere pronta per le mie prime vacanze qui...
Per fortuna ogni cosa era stata conservata con cura, perciò è bastato rinfrescare la biancheria, ed ecco che il letto è tornato al suo antico splendore :-)

When I turned the key into the lock, and the door creaked on the hinges, I decided that I would have kept all the old furniture of the aunt because thanks to the chalk paint, now you can give new life to old things :-)
I went up to scour the bedroom and the memory of the smell of lavender has become more intense ...
I remembered very well the old, imposing wrought-iron bed, with fresh linen sheets and the beautiful lace bedspread that my aunt had inherited in turn.  

I remembered very well the many times she had read me a story before sleeping, while I abandoned myself to my dreams of princesses and goblins, nestled in the romantic blankets ...
I wanted to keep everything!
Now that the renovation of the interior is finished, I could begin to think about staging because summer is approaching and the house must be ready for my first holiday here ...
Luckily everything had been carefully preserved, so it is enough to freshen the laundry, and here the bed is restored to its original splendor :-)

Arrivando qui, ho trovato molti piccoli animali a gironzolare dentro e fuori, ereditati insieme alla casa.
Micio mi è venuto subito incontro, si è strusciato sulle mie gambe e dopo è sgusciato dentro  casa, facendomi capire che lui abitava qui prima di me...
Quando noi siamo in città, abita con una gentile vicina di casa, ma quando arriviamo, arriva subito anche lui e riprende il suo posto sul letto. Noi lo amiamo molto e lo lasciamo fare :-)

Coming here, I found many small animals wandering around in and out, inherited along with the house. 

Micio came straight up, he rubbed on my legs and then it slipped into the house, letting me know that he lived here before me ...
When we are in town, he lives with a kind neighbor, but when we arrive, he immediately comes and takes his place on the bed. We love him very much and we let him go :-)

Come tutti sapete, sotto l'antico copriletto di lino (un vecchio centrino, a dire il vero) c'è il bel materasso a righe. Non me la sono sentita di lasciarlo nudo: ora che la casa ha ritrovato la sua luce, e presto sarà di nuovo abitata, volevo che il letto ritrovasse il suo aspetto accogliente e romantico...

As you all know, under the old bedspread linen (an old doily, to tell the truth) there is a nice striped mattress. I do not have the heart to leave him naked: now that the house has found its light, and will soon be inhabited again, I wanted the bed were still look cozy and romantic ...

 

Le splendide, minuscole pantofole, sono un dono di Lotte: di recente ci siamo accordate per uno swap, e ora ho il grande privilegio di poter ammirare da vicino un paio delle sue mitiche scarpine. 

Uno degli aspetti più attraenti della casa delle vacanze, è quello di poter stare comodi ed in relax; niente di meglio, dunque, che calzare un paio di comode ballerine, senza dimenticare lo stile: una ragazza può essere chic anche tra le mura domestiche :-)

The beautiful, tiny slippers, are a gift from Lotte: recently we agreed to a swap, and now I have the great privilege of being able to see up close a pai of her legendary shoes.  

One of the most attractive aspects of the holiday home, is that you can be comfortable and relaxing, nothing better, therefore, that wear a pair of comfortable flats ballet shoes without forgetting the style: a girl can look chic even in the home: -)
 

Thanks Lotte, your slippers have found their place among my collection of small treasures.

Rare Titanic Black Mourning Bear By Steiff. The bear was one of only 600 which were made especially for the British market in May 1912, to show empathy for the loss of the passengers of the R.M.S. Titanic. It is said their eyes were rimmed red to appear as if they had been crying. They were also manufactured with a somber expression.

Il 15 aprile 1912, alle ore 2:20 del mattino, il transatlantico RMS Titanic si inabissò nell'Oceano Atlantico in seguito alla collisione con un iceberg. 1517 passeggeri persero la vita sulla "nave dei sogni".

Eccomi qui, dopo qualche altra settimana di tosse e raffreddore: quanto mi sento noiosa, a ripetere sempre che sono malata! Vi prego perdonatemi, soprattutto perchè non riesco a mantenere la promessa di essere più presente.
Comunque, oggi c'è una buona luce e posso cominciare ad illustrare in dettaglio le tante sorprese del Robin's Nest Cottage.
Io stessa sono stupita di come un progetto si evolva quasi autonomamente, mano a mano che si procede nel lavoro. Trovo anzi fondamentale scattare le foto, e riguardarle al computer, perchè tutto appare diverso, macroscopico, e gli elementi di disturbo emergono maggiormente. Proprio mentre preparavo questo post, infatti, ho deciso di effettuare cambiamenti riguardo all'armadio, dopo avere visto le immagini che avevo appena scattate.

Oggi si comincia con la camera da letto, che si trova nella porzione superiore sinistra. Si tratta di uno spazio abbastanza grande ma ha il tetto spiovente che limita di molto le possibilità di arredamento. Però è anche il motivo che mi ha intrigato di più, perchè trovo divertente cercare soluzioni :-)

La prima sfida è rappresentata dal timpano centrale: un adorabile, piccolo spazio che fa venire in mente mille idee ma, a conti fatti, tutte di difficile realizzazione. Io ho deciso di inserirvi pochi elementi, per creare una composizione armoniosa.

Here I am, after a few more weeks of cough and cold: How I feel boring to always repeat that I am sick! Please forgive me, especially because I can not keep the promise to be more present.
However, today there is a good light and I can begin to explain in detail the many surprises of the Robin's Nest Cottage.
I myself am amazed at how a project evolves almost independently, as proceed in the work. I find it rather important to take pictures, and watch them at computer, because everything looks different, macroscopic, and the most disturbing elements emerge. Just as I was preparing this post, in fact, I decided to make changes regarding the closet, after seeing the images I had just taken.

Today we start with the bedroom, which is located in the upper left portion. It is a space large enough but has a sloping roof which greatly limits the possibilities of furniture. But it is also the reason that intrigued me more, because I find it fun to look for solutions :-)

The first challenge is the central gable: an adorable, small space that brings to mind a thousand ideas but, on balance, all difficult to achieve. I decided to include a few items, to create a harmonious composition.

Intanto, volevo inserire qualche fiore e questo piccolo e grazioso tavolino Hepplewhite mi è sembrata la soluzione adatta: si tratta di un kit di "The House of Miniatures" che ho dipinto di bianco e poi sporcato, per dargli un aspetto vissuto.

Meanwhile, I wanted to put some flowers and this pretty Hepplewhite candlestand seemed the perfect solution: it is a kit of "The House of Miniatures" which I painted white and then dirtied to give it a vintage look.

Per creare un po' di contrasto di colore ho inserito queste due cappelliere di cui mi sono innamorata al primo sguardo: sono il frutto della maestria della mia amica Annie (GipsyBoudoirMinis), che ringrazio sinceramente per il suo prezioso apporto, non solo in questa casa, ma nel mio modo di vedere le cose :-)

La cassapanca è riciclata dalla casa Vittoriana: i nuovi colori ne fanno un elemento perfetto da inserire in uno spazio così basso ed angusto.

To create a bit of color contrast I added these two hat boxes of which I fell in love at first sight: they are the result of the mastery of my friend Annie (GipsyBoudoirMinis), whom I thank you sincerely for her valuable contribution, not only in this house, but in my way of seeing things :-)

The chest is recycled from the Victorian house: the new colors make it a perfect element to be included on such a low and narrow place.

Rimango sempre stupita dalla facilità con cui alcune persone riescano a creare la bellezza anche con materiali poveri e di riciclo: non potevo perciò restare insensibile a questo dipinto originale di Caroline (Cindarella Moments), che su un semplice pezzetto di legno ha fatto fiorire le più delicate rose, messaggere di Primavera e dolcezza. Ritroverete spesso la sua arte, in questa casa, poichè i suoi dipinti, privi di cornice, mi sembravano perfetti per un cottage dallo stile un po' country e molto chic :-)

I am always amazed at the ease with which some people are able to create beauty even with poor materials and recycling: I could not, therefore, remain insensitive to this original painting by Caroline (Cindarella Moments), which on a simple piece of wood has given rise to the most delicate roses, messenger of Spring and sweetness. You often will rediscover her art, in this house, as her paintings, frameless, seemed to me perfect for a cottage, a little country style and very chic :-)

Ed ecco come si presenta lo spazio della stanza con l'aggiunta del letto: la decisione sulla posizione definitiva mi è costata fatica mentale ma alla fine questa mi pare la soluzione migliore, sia per vedere bene il letto, sia per sfruttare al massimo lo spazio accanto alla finestra.

Devo ammettere che il materasso mi piace così tanto che ancora non ho trovato il coraggio di coprirlo con lenzuola e coperta :-)

And here is how the space of the bedroom with the addition of the bed: the decision on the final location cost me mental fatigue but in the end this seems to me the best solution, both for a better view of the bed and to maximize the space next to the window.

I have to admit that the mattress I like it so much that I have not yet found the courage to cover it with sheets and blanket :-)

Come si può notare, l'inclinazione dello spiovente del tetto rende davvero difficile inserire un mobile alto, perchè lo spazio và via via restringendosi; perciò ho dovuto optare per questo scrittoio che aveva un buon rapporto tra altezza e larghezza. Esso deve fungere anche da comodino.
La ghirlanda a forma di cuore sopra la finestra è di Eva Perendreu (Evamini), un altro tocco romantico e unico a questa stanza

As you can see, the inclination of the slope of the roof makes it really difficult to insert a high cabinet, because the space is gradually shrinking, so I had to opt for this writing which had a good balance between height and width. It should also serve as a bedside table. 

The heart wreath above the window is by Eva Perendreu (Evamini), another romantic and unique touch to this room :-)

E finalmente, la mia adorata poltrona, quella che mi fa sognare lunghi pomeriggi di lettura, nella stanza inondata da questa rassicurante luce pomeridiana...
La poltrona è strategicamente posizionata ai piedi del letto, proprio davanti al punto di inserzione tra la parete divisoria e l'angolo del timpano: questo è il punto debole della stanza e non c'era modo di evitarlo, se volevo ricavare un po più di spazio nel bagno adiacente.
Nei prossimi post vedrete come la stanza prenderà vita con i tanti accessori e soprattutto con l'aggiunta dell'armadio che racchiude tanti piccoli tesori :-)

And finally, my beloved armchair, the one that makes me dream of long afternoons reading in the room flooded with this reassuring afternoon light ...
The chair is strategically located at the foot of the bed, just in front of the insertion point between the partition wall and the angle of the gable: this is the weak point of the room and there was no way to avoid it, if I wanted to get a little more space in the adjoining bathroom.
In the next post you will see how the room will come to life with the many accessories and especially with the addition of the closet that contains many small treasures :-)

A Winner... or two

Miei cari amici, oggi è una splendida giornata di sole: la Primavera è arrivata ed è bellissimo poter condividere con tutti voi la gioia per questi tre anni di amicizia.

My dear friends, today is a beautiful sunny day: Spring has arrived and it is wonderful to share with you the joy of these three years of friendship.

How many times I have said that I wanted to escape from the noise of the world to live in my doll house, then I thought that there is a way, and it is this: transform myself into a doll and enter the world I have created, to tell of myself and my passions, from within.
Well, that did it: I packed my bags and came away. With me, of course, there's my little Elisa, four years, that fills my life with fantasy, and is very happy to have, too, hes alter ego at the Robin's Nest Cottage.

Tea Cup Tuesday - Edwardian Wishes

Benvenuti al primo Tea Cup Tuesday dei questo nuovo anno.
Molti mesi sono trascorsi dal mio ultimo contributo sull'argomento, nonostante il tè faccia oramai parte integrante della mia vita, e mi ispiri ogni giorno pensieri positivi e propositi.
Riflettendo su quale tazza fosse quella giusta per l'occasione, ho scelto questo delicato trio inglese datato 1900 circa, completamente decorato con violette dipinte a mano. Le violette sono il fiore più rappresentativo del Natale e dell'inizio d'anno lungo tutto il periodo Vittoriano ed Edoardiano, soprattutto sui biglietti di auguri.
Mi sembrava molto giusto perciò cominciare con la delicata poesia legata a questo fiore, con tutte le dolci promesse di cui esso si fa portavoce.

Welcome to the first Tea Cup Tuesday of this new year.

Many months have passed since my last contribution on the subject, despite the tea is now an integral part of my life, and inspire me every day positive thoughts and intentions.
Reflecting on the cup was right for the occasion, I chose this delicate English trio dated circa 1900, fully decorated with hand painted violets. Violets are the flower most representative of Christmas and the beginning of the year throughout the Victorian and Edwardian period, especially on greeting cards.
It seemed very wrong, therefore begin with the delicate poetry related to this flower, with all the sweet promises of which it is the mouthpiece.

La viola è un fiore legato alla sfera della memoria e degli affetti e non dobbiamo dimenticare quanto fosse importante, in tempi ormai lontani, comunicare attraverso simboli ed allusioni, essendo del tutto sconveniente l'espressione libera ed esplicita dei propri sentimenti.
Immaginate, dunque, fanciulle romantiche conservare religiosamente tra le pagine di un libro una violetta ricevuta in dono da un giovanotto, e baciarla e bagnarla di lacrime fino al matrimonio ed oltre...
A tutto questo mi fa pensare questa bellissima tazza, accogliente, romantica, delicata.
Sia la tazza che il piattino e il piatto sono smerlati e bordati d'oro ricco, a richiamare anche nella forma il concetto del fiore (forma ricorrente per tutto il periodo Edoardiano)

The violet is a flower related to the sphere of memory and affection, and we must not forget how important it was, in days gone by, to communicate through symbols and allusions, being quite inconvenient the free expression and explicit about their feelings.
Imagine, then, romantic girls religiously preserve between the pages of a book a violet received as a gift from a young man, and kiss it and wet it with tears until marriage and beyond ...
To all this makes me think this beautiful cup, cozy, romantic and delicate.
Both the cup saucer and plate are scalloped and edged in rich gold, recalling also in form the concept of the flower (recurring form throughout the Edwardian period)

 

Attraverso l'obiettivo della macchina fotografica, mi pare di vederla per la prima volta: si apre per me un magico mondo attraverso cui io torno indietro e indietro nel tempo, in un insolitamente luminoso pomeriggio di gennaio in cui una malinconica Signora inglese prepara il suo tè e lo versa fumante in questa tazza, pensando al suo amante segreto...  Le lacrime cadono dentro la tazza e si mischiano alla nera bevanda, rendendola un poco più amara...

Through the lens of the camera, I can see it for the first time: it opens for me a magical world through which I'm going back and forth in time, in an unusually bright afternoon in January, when a melancholy English Lady prepares her tea and pours it in this steaming cup, thinking of her secret lover ... Tears fall into the cup and mix the black beverage, making it a little more bitter ...

Oltre che per la decorazione e per la forma, questa tazza si distingue per un bellissimo manico a forma di orecchio, una delle mie preferite...

Ci sono dei piccoli rilievi lungo il margine e solo un tocco dorato in cima.

In addition to the decoration and shape, this cup is characterized by a beautiful handle in the shape of the ear, one of my favorites.

Così tante cose da festeggiare insieme, miei cari amici.

Dopo un anno a dir poco fiacco, e dopo tanto silenzio, io non sapevo bene come cominciare oggi...

Quindi ho deciso di lasciare semplicemente parlare le immagini.
Nonostante la cattiva salute, i malumori e le difficoltà, il Robin Nest Cottage ha piano piano preso vita, e io sono molto soddisfatta del risultato, anche se, con la mia mania di perfezionismo e la mia incontentabile passione per i  dettagli, c'è ancora molto da fare.
Per prima cosa, avevo la necessità di focalizzare quale fosse il mio intento principale: quale anima dare a questa casa?
Sempre combattuta tra il realismo e i sogni, ho deciso di lasciarmi andare alla fantasia, creando una casetta a misura dei miei desideri. Pazienza se qualcosa manca, e qualcosa è in più; pazienza se tutto è rosa e luminoso, come non potrà mai essere nella vita reale (qualcuno dirà "per fortuna!" LOL); pazienza se ci sono tante incongruenze.
In fondo, questa è solo una casa delle bambole, che deve dare gioia a chi la crea e a chi la guarda.
Questa è la casa in cui io vorrei abitare se fossi una bambola e non avessi bisogno di energia elettrica per far funzionare gli elettrodomestici, o acqua nella vasca da bagno, o tutte quelle altre cose tremendamente pratiche e noiose.
No no no: questa è una casetta magica, in cui tutto può succedere, in cui accogliere gli amici, in cui condividere qualche ora spensierata, proprio perchè fuori da qui tutto è tremendamente reale.

So many things to celebrate, my dear friends

After a year, to say the least weak, and after a long silence, I was not sure how to get started today. So I decided to just let the pictures speak.
Despite the bad health, discontent and difficulties, the Robin Nest Cottage has slowly come to life, and I am  satisfied with the result, though, with my habit of perfectionism, and my insatiable passion for detail, there is still much to do.
First, I needed to focus on what my main purpose: what soul give to this house?
Still torn between realism and dreams, I decided to let me go to the imagination, creating a small house in measure of my desires. Never mind if something is missing, and something more; patient if everything is pink and bright, as it can never be in real life (some will say "fortunately" LOL); patience though there are many inconsistencies.
In the end, this is just a dollhouse, which must give joy to those who create and those who watch it.
This is the house where I would live if I were a doll and I did not need electricity to run appliances, or water in the bathtub, or all those other things tremendously practical and boring.
No no no, this is a magical house, where anything can happen, where welcome friends, to share a few carefree hours, just because out here everything is terribly real.

Dining and living room

Nei prossimi posts, passeremo ad osservare tutti i particolari in ogni ambiente (quelli presenti e quelli futuri); oggi, divertitevi ad osservare l'insieme, ragionando su qualche considerazione.

La prima camera è la piccola sala da pranzo che funge anche da salotto.
Volendo dare molto spazio alla cucina adiacente, ho posizionato la parte divisoria al limite sinistro della porta d'ingresso, perciò lo spazio è davvero piccolo e stretto, più profondo che largo. Arredarlo è stata davvero una sfida, perchè VOLEVO un caminetto, un tavolo con almeno due sedie e che rimanesse ancora spazio per creare una parvenza di ingresso. Ambiziosa e insaziabile, direte voi...
Ma le soluzioni mi si sono offerte poco per volta (vedremo in dettaglio) e questo, per ora, è il risultato.

In the next few posts, we will look at all the details in every room (those present and future), today, have fun observing all, thinking of some consideration.

The first room is the small dining room which also serves as living room.
Wanting to give much space to the adjacent kitchen, I placed the divider to the left edge of the front door, so space is very small and narrow, deeper than it is wide. Furnish it was really a challenge, because I WANTED a fireplace, a table with at least two chairs and still remain space to create a semblance of entry. Ambitious and insatiable, you say ...
But the solutions I have offered little at a time (we'll see in detail) and this, for now is the result.

The kitchen

Questo è l'ambiente più grande e, a dire il vero, l'intero progetto è nato da questa idea: la cucina dei mie sogni.
Una difficoltà legata a questo kit è che sono presenti finestre su tutte le pareti tranne quella destra, e arredare diventa complicato, però, secondo me, l'insieme appare anche molto luminoso e realistico. Questo è anche uno dei motivi che mi ha convinto ad utilizzare la parete divisoria, per avere a disposizione una maggiore superficie.
Ugualmente, reputo vincente l'idea di non avere papered le pareti, perchè in questo modo spiccano gli accessori e arredamento.
Nella cucina sono già presenti tantissimi particolari adorabili e credetemi: quando mi sento giù di morale, mi siedo lì di fronte e mi metto ad osservare e osservare, con calma... Una terapia impareggiabile contro lo stress :-)

This is the larger environment and, to tell the truth, the whole project was born from this idea: the kitchen of my dreams.
A difficulty with this kit is that there are windows on all sides except the right one, and furnish becomes complicated, however, in my opinion, the whole appears very bright and realistic. This is also one of the reasons that convinced me to use the wall, so you have a larger surface area.
Similarly, I think the winning idea not to have papered the walls, because in this way stand out accessories and furniture.
In the kitchen there are already many details adorable and believe me when I feel down in the dumps, I sit in front of it and I'm going to watch and observe, calmly ... Uninterrupted therapy against stress :-)

Questa è l'adorabile camera da letto: quando lavoro su questa stanza il desiderio di rimpicciolimento si fa più insistente, soprattutto dopo una giornata frenetica e senza grandi soddisfazioni...
Oh, sdraiarsi in quel letto di ferro battuto, socchiudere gli occhi, lasciarsi andare ai suoni della natura (immagino il cottage immerso in una radura in mezzo ad un bosco, un po come quello dei Sette Nani).
Altre difficoltà, in questa camera: il tetto spiovente e i tre timpani, che movimentano lo lo spazio ma lo rendono davvero difficile da sfruttare.

In questa stanza, desideravo non mancasse l'armadio, che secondo me è carico di un fascino particolare, dato che può contenere cose che non si vedono, ma ci sono... Poi, basta aprire le ante e... sorpresa!
Per questo motivo - e anche per garantire un po di privacy nel bagno - ho reputato necessario utilizzare la parte divisoria.

This is the adorable bedroom: when I work on this room, the desire to shrinkage becomes more insistent, especially after a hectic day and without great satisfaction ...
Oh, lie down in this wrought iron bed, close your eyes, let yourself go to the sounds of nature (I guess the cottages nestled in a clearing in the middle of a forest, a bit like the one of the Seven Dwarfs).
Other difficulties, in this room: the sloping roof and three timpani, which move the space but make it really difficult to exploit.

In this room, I wanted to not missing the closet, which I think is a load of charm, since it can contain things which are not seen, but there are ... Then, just open the doors and ... surprise!
For this reason - and also to ensure a bit of privacy in the bathroom - I deemed it necessary to use the partition.

The Bathroom

Il bagno è ugualmente adorabile e ugualmente minuscolo: qualunque altra scelta rispetto al bianco, l'avrebbe reso angusto!
Devo dire che questa è la stanza che necessita di maggiore attenzione ed interventi: come vedete, c'è da coprire la botola con cui ho chiuso il vano scala (mai scelta di tappeto e/o arredo fu più sofferta!); inoltre, ho dovuto creare una mini parete di fondo, per mascherare l'angolo vuoto creato dal timpano centrale, e annullare l'inclinazione della parete che corrisponde al tetto.

The bathroom is equally adorable and equally tiny: any other choice than the white, it would make it narrow!
I must say that this is the room that needs more attention and interventions: as you can see, it is to cover the trap with which I closed the stairwell (never choice of carpet and / or furniture was more painful!), And, I had to create a mini bottom wall, to mask the angle vacuum created by the central gable, and cancel the inclination of the wall that corresponds to the roof.

The front

La facciata, per il momento, ha subito poche variazioni (e poche ne subirà, del resto), poichè ancora non ho deciso su quale base posizionare l'intera casa, sia per renderla più stabile, sia per creare uno spazio da sfruttare come piccolo giardino o aiuola.
Ho aggiunto un po di verde e fiori sul tetto ma ho dubbi su tutto il resto: numero civico, illuminazione, decorazioni architettoniche, persino i fiori alla porta d'ingresso...
Io sono in cerca di ispirazione.

The front, for the moment, has undergone few changes (and a few will suffer, for that matter), because I have not decided on which basis place the entire house, both to make it more stable and create a space to use as a small garden or flowerbed.
I added a bit of greenery and flowers on the roof but I have doubts about everything else: number, lighting, decorations, even the flowers at the front door ...
I am looking for inspiration.

Come vedete, in questo lungo periodo io non sono stata del tutto inattiva, però vedo che nemmeno voi lo siete stati :-)

Questo blog ha raggiunto quota 700 lettori (benvenuti a tutti) ed è tempo di celebrare un give away che questa volta sarà particolarmente divertente :-)

Inoltre, cattivo tempo permettendo (la poca luce è nemica delle belle foto) ho intenzione di riprendere e sviluppare tanti argomenti trascurati, come i libri essenziali per tutti gli amanti delle case di bambola, l'ora del tè e la collezione edoardiana.
Basta inerzia!

As you can see, in this long period I was not completely inactive, but I see that you have not been either :-)
This blog has reached 700 followers (welcome to all) and it is time to celebrate a give away that this time will be particularly fun.
In addition, bad weather permitting (the little light is the enemy of the good pictures) I'm going to resume and develop many neglected topics, such as books essential for all lovers of dollhouses, tea time and Edwardian collection.
