Facebook?!

Raccontatemelo :-)

***

Well yes, after long consideration, I decided to be there too!
In these years, I have heard attributed to the popular social network all sorts of commendation or blame, but in the end I thought that like all tools, it must serve TO me, and not the opposite. Many have become slaves (
this thought scares me a little), always following the "like" of the most diverse people, as if the appreciation of others become the only way to appreciate themselves. But I do not think I'm among them: however, I thought that this could be another way to share the things that I love, and that makes me happy, with distant friends. Therefore, those who will be pleased, will now take a look here:

The page is blank new (read: almost empty!), but I hope to update it and bring it to life with you.
This of course does not mean that I will forsake the blog (more than I have already done, you say ...), but only that I will have more opportunities to share :-)
And you, what do you think? What is your experience about?
Waiting to hear from you,

Love to all, my dear friends

  1. I must now be the last hold out. Meaning I have not joined Facebook. It in my opinion is the reason forums and blogs have almost died out.
Having said that... I do hope you enjoy it. :-)

    1. Dear Catherine, I have set a mission, namely: use fb to bring readers on the blog! I hope to succeed.
Only the blog allows you to develop arguments, organize well the thoughts, articulately, publish quality images, in a personal context. I too, as you know, I have a clear preference for the blog (other than the fact that life engulfs all my free time !!!) and I have a serious intention to do to live it better, and for a long time ;-)

  2. I am not on facebook either and never will be. Though I do sometimes feel one is left out of many things. So good luck to you!! :))

    1. Hi Nina, thanks for your comment :-)
This feeling of not being able to take part in some things that interest me was precisely one of the reasons that convinced me. But with clear rules, for example: do not talk about anything personal, or family, and especially to exclude people that I can see every single day (and, perhaps, they find it hard to say "hello" when they meet me!). Human relationships with family and friends should be cultivated in front of a good cup of tea, not to the PC! But this blog is my home, and here I welcome with love all the friends far away, like you :-)

  5. Hi sweetie <3

I am so happy to see you on Facebook and I will surely follow your page.

When that said, I must also admit that Facebook is the media draining our blogs from visitors and comments, and I miss that social blog networking we had a few years ago.

But I think we have to grow along with the medias developement and new medias taking over.
Facebook is my main miniature network and I get a lot of comments on my work and a lot of interacting with miniature friends around the world.
I guess there are pros and cons to most things in life, and Facebook indeed has both.

I will keep on blogging along with posting on FB and making my YouTube videos.

Looking forward to interact on FB but I will still be here at your wonderful blog.

    Hugs Annie

    1. Annie dear, you are one of those people who have taught me the value of friendship and creativity, and that the two are closely related. In these years I have learned a lot from all the friends around the world, people without the net I would have never been able to meet, so I am grateful and confident in the technology, if used well. Thank you for being among my most loyal friends :-)

  6. I'll be "liking" your page too. I'm there but only really post as a member of a miniature group. I still prefer my blog although I do occasionally post if distant family members present themselves. Good luck - I hope it's a success.

    1. Dearest Irene, to be able to participate in these groups of miniaturists excite me very much! But the blog is also my favorite place, my second home ... And I like to go to the homes of friends through their own blogs. So: as usual :-)
      Love,

  7. Sei capitolata!!! :-D

    Besos.

  9. Hi Flora! I have been on FB for a couple of years but it is only in the last couple of weeks that I have considered using it to promote my own work or my blog. I have found Facebook to be VERY USEFUL for staying in touch with my family members and I still use it primarily for that purpose.
I find that the blog will actually allow a person to explore a subject in greater depth and detail, which is why I still enjoy it. FB to me, is the equivalent of a quick caption but the blog is where you get the full story! :D

    1. Hi dear Elisabeth,
Also I agree with you that the blog is a place more welcoming, and I did not neglect it to FB :-) In fact, I use an alter ego (I do not have a page with my name), just because I do not care to be traced by relatives and friends that, if they want, they can come visit me at home;-)
      Love,

  10. Hi Flora! I have a FB page but it is not really where I share any mini things. It has been where my family and other "long ago" friends are connected, and frankly, sometimes I don't want to see the "stuff" they post about! (I know that is unkind of me!) But it is not mostly the mini world for me. So I stay very loyal to the blog sphere.... I talk too much and blogs allow for that! LOL! I hope you have a wonderful FB experience and I REALLY Hope it will not take you away from blogging.... there are times when the blog world feels a bit thin and lonely with so many choosing FB instead because it is quick and easy and nobody has enough time! Your mini pictures are always so lovely to behold!

    1. Dear Betsy, I fear like the plague all the useless crap posted by many acquaintances, and this is precisely the reason why I have taken so long, and use an alter ego :-)
Instead, I want to intrigue new people about miniatures and dollhouses, and bring them on the blog :-) Perverse ...
I hope to be successful in this aim ;-)
      Thanks for being here, love

    1. Hi Melanie,
I'll always be, above all, on the blog :-)
My intent with FB is just to drag new readers on the blog, intriguing them with photos and previews ;-)
What do you think about it?
      Thanks for being here, love

  12. I find it hard to keep up with all the social media. I have to have accounts so many places plus wok on minis. It makes it hard to keep up. I like Instagram. Just post photos and your done. I'll follow you on Facebook for sure!
    big hugs♥,
    Caroline

  13. Hi Caroline, yes is very challenging...
It's behind a tremendous creative effort to maintain good levels of communication across the board ... I have matured this idea: the blog is the best place to express themselves with images and text; Facebook is the best place to get in contact with a greater number of people. I would like to take advantage of both social media ;-) Thanks for being one of my dear friends here and there. Love,
    Flora
